This programme is a generic
employability programme designed
to generate employment aspirations.
It will support learners to identify
strengths and qualities that are
expectations in the workplace. It will
help learners to identify the sector
they wish to work in and then plan
work placements to enable them to
experience first-hand what happens in
a range of employment environments.
The learners will develop functional
CVs, letter writing skills, interview
skills and confidence to help them
succeed in the workplace. This course
is a final year option and there is an
expectation that learners will come
to college dressed ready for work and
able to demonstrate positive attitudes
to learning.
All learners will develop maths and
English skills as part of this ‘study
programme’.

The course is designed to aid
transition to College; it will embed
the essential expectations of an FE
College into a programme of study
that will include Maths, English
and ICT alongside accessing the
community, developing aspirations
for future employment and building
confidence whilst working with others.
The course is the first step on our
3 year curriculum that follows the
vocational progression route (those
that would eventually like to secure
employment).
