Meet Khalisa Adil
Course: ESOL Entry 3A Student
Before coming to the College I was at school, but was
told I needed to improve my English before going to
study at Sixth Form. I had heard that this was the
best place to study English.

I couldn’t talk
to my classmates
at the beginning,
now I enjoy
talking to them
and I’m much more
comfortable
than before.
“
The ESOL course involves learning how to
communicate with other people well in English, with
classmates especially. In a typical class we do writing,
reading and teamwork. I love teamwork and the
communications have really helped me to improve
my English, I have learnt so much. My favourite
memory of the course was when we went ice skating
as a class. I couldn’t talk to my classmates at the
beginning, now I enjoy talking to them and I’m much
more comfortable than before. I’m also very happy to
talk to others outside of the College. I have the best
teacher, she has helped me a lot, including with my
reading which is now much faster. My life is easier
now than before as I can do things by myself and I
don’t have to call other people for help translating.
I have applied to study Childcare at the College for
after the summer, as I want to stay here.
I would recommend this College for ESOL as the
staff and students are so friendly and helpful and the
course really helps your English.
