the BeagleBone. The device is powered from the cigar lighter of the car.
There is a cafe in the building and in the neighboring office building. There is also
a hotel within a quarter mile where you intend to stay. You intend to hop between
these locations and possibly spend some time in your car as well while performing
the penetration test. The router in the car outside PFE should be adequate to allow
you to operate the command console from any of these locations.
CONFIGURING DEVICES
The planned penetration test requires the following equipment: four XBee-PRO
Series 2 modems, one XBee Series 2 modem, 4 XBee capes (or mini-capes), one
USB XBee adapter, four BeagleBone Blacks, two Alfa AWUS036H wireless
adapters (one of which has the case removed), one SimpleWiFi directional antenna,
and a Linux computer to serve as the command console (this could be a Beagle, laptop,
or desktop). Two USB cables will be required: a short one for installing inside
the Dalek and another for connecting the Alfa to the BeagleBone in the car.
Each of the Beagles will require a different power adapter. The conference room
connector. In order to reduce the number of devices in your penetration testing bag, you
might consider using only 2 A adapters that will work with wireless drones as well. The
Beagle and network switch attached to the receptionist’s computer will require a USB to
2.15.5 mm barrel connector and a mini-USB cable, respectively. The Beagle inside
the Dalek requires only a 2.15.5 mm barrel connector that is spliced into the power of
the Dalek. The Beagle in the car is most easily powered by a 2 A or greater USB charger
that plugs into the cigar lighter and a USB to 2.15.5 mm barrel plug. Alternatively, a
power inverter and AC power adapter could be used.
An inventory of items and approximate costs is shown in Table 7.1. The only
thing not included is the cost of the command console computer that could be most
