Order in Pending Case
No. 14–1516 (15A475). Stephen Duncan, Warden, Petitioner v.
Lawrence Owens. Application to recall and stay the mandate of the
United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in case No. 14–
1419 presented to Justice Kagan and by her referred to the Court
granted, pending the sending down of the judgment of this Court. The
request seeking that the respondent be returned to applicant’s custody
pending final disposition of this case denied, thus leaving that determination
for the state court.
Appeal - Jurisdiction Postponed
No. 14–1504. Robert J. Wittman, et al., Appellants v. Gloria Personhuballah,
et al. Further consideration of the question of jurisdiction
postponed to the hearing of the case on the merits. In addition to the
questions presented by the jurisdictional statement, parties are directed
to brief and argue the following question: Whether appellants
lack standing because none reside in or represent the only congressional
district whose constitutionality is at issue in this case.
Certiorari Granted
No. 15–274. Whole Woman’s Health, et al., Petitioners v. Kirk Cole,
Commissioner, Texas Department of State Health Services, et al. Petition
for writ of certiorari to the United States Court of Appeals for
the Fifth Circuit granted.
