SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
Present: Chief Justice Roberts, Justice Kennedy, Justice Thomas,
Justice Ginsburg, Justice Breyer, Justice Alito, Justice Sotomayor, and
Justice Kagan.
Orders
Ordered:
1. That the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure be, and they
hereby are, amended by including therein amendments to Appellate
Rules 4, 5, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, 28.1, 29, 32, 35, and 40, and Forms 1, 5,
and 6, new Form 7 and new Appendix.
2. That the foregoing amendments to the Federal Rules of Appellate
Procedure shall take effect on December 1, 2016, and shall govern in
all proceedings in appellate cases thereafter commenced and, insofar
as just and practicable, all proceedings then pending.
3. That The Chief Justice be, and hereby is, authorized to transmit
to the Congress the foregoing amendments to the Federal Rules of
Appellate Procedure in accordance with the provisions of Section 2072
of Title 28, United States Code.
Ordered:
1. That the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure be, and they
hereby are, amended by including therein amendments to Bankruptcy
Rules 1010, 1011, 2002, 3002.1, 7008, 7012, 7016, 9006, 9027, and 9033,
and new Rule 1012.
2. That the foregoing amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy
Procedure shall take effect on December 1, 2016, and shall govern
in all proceedings in bankruptcy cases thereafter commenced and,
insofar as just and practicable, all proceedings then pending.
3. That The Chief Justice be, and hereby is, authorized to transmit
to the Congress the foregoing amendments to the Federal Rules of
Bankruptcy Procedure in accordance with the provisions of Section
2075 of Title 28, United States Code.
Ordered:
1. That the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure be, and they hereby
are, amended by including therein amendments to Civil Rules 4, 6,
and 82.
