Scottish Open Medal
for Barbara
Congratulations to Barbara Reid, a member of both Strathgryffe
and Bishopton Tennis Clubs, who managed to battle her way
to the Ladies Singles final of the Scottish Seniors’ Tennis Championships at
Scotstoun last month. This was an ITF Grade 3 tournament staged by Tennis
Scotland which attracted an entry of over 200 players from 13 different
countries contesting 22 events.
Alas, Barbara lost in the final but, as
quoted by Tennis Scotland on their
website, ‘Top seed Maggie McLelland
was made to work hard in the final of
the 55 & over event against Barbara
Reid winning 7-5 in the third set.’
A chuffed son, tennis coach James
Reid, commented, ‘Just goes to show
you can still get better with age!’
Strathgryffe has details available for
Easter Camps for children and also
the new Spring Coaching Programme
for adults and children. Please email:
