Just like in the property price chart you saw earlier, in the last 10 years,<br />

the stock market’s gone up and it has come down. And as you can see on<br />

this chart, when you draw a trend line between the price it was at in 1998<br />

and the price it was at the end of 2007, you can see that it has literally<br />

drifted sideways, making hardly any price progress.<br />

With the stock market, history tends to repeat itself. This is very<br />

good news for you, especially when you are armed with some key<br />

historical data. You have seen an example of the property market<br />

making no price progress for a ten year period and then exploding<br />

northwards.<br />

But what about the stock market? Has the stock market done this<br />

before?<br />

Yes.<br />

From 1970 to 1980 the stock market hardly made any price progress. 60<br />
