Let me repeat once again for emphasis. Over the last 10 years, the Nasdaq
has been underperforming its long-term trend and therefore could be
due a move. Plus this move might be substantial and powerful because
at the moment, the market (on the chart below) looks like it has formed
a very bullish cup-with-handle formation. And that means it could be
ready to begin moving northwards at any time.
Could there be a possible stock market boom on the horizon?
You see, as my brother Paul mentioned in his Note to the Reader, a “ cupwith-handle”
is an investment term for a price chart pattern that stocks
a nd i nde xe s for m ju st before they take off on major runs. Th ey start with
a powerful uptrend and at some point they have to rest and therefore
correct in price before eventually proceeding to even higher ground. Th e
cup-with-handle is known to be the one pattern that produces the most
powerful and sustained moves.
Is it any wonder my clients and I are so excited right now?
It is also good to remind you at this point how strong the Nasdaq can
be over a ten year period. As you heard earlier, from 1990 to 2000 the
Nasdaq went up on average 24.5% per year and the great news is that
because it’s done it before, it can do it again. In case you forgot, the
Nasdaq Composite is the US technology index.
