Akami Technologies (Ticker symbol - AKAM) was another company
I purchased in 2005 and sold in 2006. With Akami, I made a profi t of
68.3% in eleven weeks.
And the other stocks that I owned, sold and made a profi t on in 2005
were KOS Pharmaceuticals Inc (Ticker symbol - KOSP) 97.2% in
four weeks, Hovnanian Enterprises (Ticker symbol - HOV) 54.6% in
fi ve weeks, Semiconductor ETF ( Ticker symbol - SMH) 22.1% in fi ve
weeks, Sirius Satellite Radio (Ticker symbol - SIRI) 32.4% in two weeks,
Genentech Inc (Ticker symbol - DNA) 18.6% in two weeks and Apple
Inc (Ticker symbol - AAPL) 21.8% in one week.
Ice Is Cool
In 2006, I picked three of my biggest winners since I began professional
investing. My biggest winner in 2006 was a company called
Intercontinental Exchange (Ticker symbol - ICE). In fi fteen weeks, I
made a cool profi t of 268%. Las Vegas Sands Corp (Ticker symbol -
LVS) was another big winner for me gaining 96% over a seventeen week
period. Baidu.com Inc (Ticker symbol - BIDU) was my other success
story that year. Baidu is the Chinese equivalent of Google and I made a
profi t of 158.6% in seven weeks.
Because of market conditions, I did not trade in 2007 and even though
2008 was nasty, I was fortunate to land a huge 39.3% jump on our
portfolio– in just one day (13th October).
