Appendix B - Recommended Reading / Audio
One reason is connected to my personal philosophy on how to live a
good life. My philosophy is based on four key elements; to learn, to
serve, to love and to experience. In other words, we all know that money
is important, but we all know that our health and relationships are of
much greater importance.
Th is is why you’ll fi nd recommendations under headings such as
“Personal Development”, “Health” and “Spiritual.” And so if you are
like me and agree that there is more to life than just money, you might
like some of my choices that do not fall under the headings “ Investing”
and “Personal Finance.”
I decided to recommend books and audio programs connected to
business, sales and marketing because many of my clients are business
owners. I think you’ll agree that creating a successful business around
something you are intensely passionate about is a great way to spend your
time and slowly build your wealth.
Out of all the subject headings, I do strongly recommend that you
consider learning sales and marketing. And that goes for whatever line
of work you are involved in. Th e reason for this is tied to increasing your
value, which I mention in more detail in Chapter 9. Th e rule is, if you
want to be paid more, not only will you have to learn new skills and
gain valuable knowledge, you’ll also have to be able to sell and promote
yourself so that others realise your true value.
You see, if we don’t learn how to sell ourselves, we could end up being very
frustrated by the progress we are making towards our fi nancial goals.
Having valuable knowledge or skills is no good unless a person can “sell”
the reasons why they are worth the amount they are charging.
And with all this in mind, what I can promise you is this. Th e more you
read and apply, the more you’ll earn and the greater the amount you can
save and invest each and every year. And the more you read and listen
to educational audio programs, the faster you’ll get to your goal–and
you’ll feel great–because deep down you’ll know that day by day you’ll
be moving one step closer towards your intended target.
