e) Pump Control Panel Housing<br />
The pump control panel housing shall be a NEMA Type 12/3R with rain-shield and 3-point<br />
padlockable latch, dead front enclosure, constructed of not less than 14 gauge #316<br />
stainless steel. The <strong>minimum</strong> panel housing shall be 12" deep x 30" wide x 36" high. The<br />
enclosure shall be equipped with an exterior door, interior “dead front” door and shall<br />
incorporate a removable 1/8 inch thick aluminum back panel on which control components<br />
shall be mounted. The front door shall be secured to the enclosure with a continuous<br />
stainless steel piano hinge and be equipped with a padlocking three point latching<br />
mechanism. The handle of the three point latching mechanism shall be fabricated of heavy<br />
gauge stainless steel. The back panel shall be secured to the enclosure with collar studs.<br />
f) Fastenings and duct work<br />
All motor branch circuit breakers, motor starter contactors, overload relays, control<br />
transformer and control relays shall be securely fastened to the removable back panel with<br />
cadmium plated steel screws and lock washers. The back panel shall be tapped to accept<br />
the component mounting screws. Self-tapping screws shall not be used to mount any<br />
component.<br />
g) Contactors and Switches<br />
An open frame, across-the-line, NEMA rated, magnetic motor contactors with 120 volt, 60<br />
Hz coils shall be furnished for each pump motor (Saftronics Model GP-10 VFDs shall be<br />
supplied in approved single phase installations). Contacts and coil shall be easily<br />
replaceable without removing the contactor from its mounted position. All operating<br />
controls and instrument shall be securely mounted on the control compartment interior<br />
door. All controls and instruments shall be clearly labeled using engraved plastic plates to<br />
indicate function. Trouble light switch shall be NEMA 4.<br />
h) Primary Disconnect<br />
The primary disconnect shall be a re-settable primary circuit breaker located in the circuit<br />
prior to the control panel. Amperage rating and stainless steel enclosure type to be<br />
specified by Engineer. Lightning arresters and surge protectors shall be installed.<br />
I) Interior<br />
The following components shall be mounted on the interior door:<br />
Access to Primary and Generator circuit breaker and interlock mechanism<br />
Access to Pump and secondary breakers.<br />
Trouble light On-Off switch.<br />
“Run in Backup” indicator light.<br />
