Flanged fittings shall meet ANSI 21.20 and AWWA C110 <strong>standards</strong>.<br />
Joints for ductile iron pipe shall conform to the latest standard of ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11<br />
for rubber gasket joints and ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15 for threaded flanges.<br />
Cement-lined ductile iron pipe shall conform to the latest <strong>standards</strong> of ANSI/AWWA<br />
C104/A21.4<br />
DIP shall be required in the following circumstances:<br />
a) Main 24 inches in diameter and larger.<br />
b) Within 15 feet of buildings, canals or lakes.<br />
c) Crossings under potable water, sewage or storm pipes in accordance with<br />
Item 4 of this Section.<br />
d) Crossings over potable water, sewage or storm pipes in accordance with<br />
Item 4 of this Section.<br />
e) Carrier pipe for jack and bores (restrained joints).<br />
f) Aerial crossings.<br />
g) Deep piping.<br />
h) DIP may be mandated by the Department in any instance of off-site or on-site<br />
<strong>construction</strong> where future abuse to the line is possible due to location or<br />
circumstances, extensive length under pavement, or in private property away<br />
from <strong>County</strong> rights-of-way.<br />
7. Reclaimed Water Main - Size<br />
The reclaimed water mains shall be sized by the Developer's Engineer as required and as<br />
approved by the Department. The <strong>minimum</strong> size of reclaimed mains shall normally be 4<br />
inches. The Engineer may be required to demonstrate the adequacy of such sizing.<br />
8. Valves and Fittings<br />
Gate valves shall be ductile iron, resilient seat type with mechanical joints conforming to<br />
AWWA C-500, latest revision. Valves shall be <strong>design</strong>ed for a working pressure of not less<br />
