1. General<br />
SECTION VII - RECLAIMED WATER SYSTEMS<br />
The <strong>design</strong>, <strong>construction</strong> and operation of reclaimed water facilities shall abide by the<br />
criteria outlined in Chapter 62-610 of the <strong>Florida</strong> Administrative Code. Supplemental<br />
specifications for individual components of the reclaimed water system will be provided to<br />
the Engineer of Record at the plan review meeting.<br />
The engineering report described in Rule 62.610.310 shall be submitted with each project.<br />
The abbreviated version described may be applicable.<br />
Users of reclaimed water shall execute with the Department a binding agreement ensuring<br />
that <strong>construction</strong>, operation, maintenance, and monitoring meets the requirements of 62-<br />
600, 62-610, and 62-620, F.A.C. Such binding agreements are required for all reuse sites<br />
not owned by the permittee.<br />
The developer shall provide the Department plans, in addition to those of the meter station,<br />
a scale drawing of the site irrigation plan including pump facilities, storage reservoirs,<br />
mains, valves, controllers, individual lot irrigation systems, and irrigation schedules.<br />
To aid in the prevention of cross connections, color-coded pipe as specified, is mandatory<br />
throughout the irrigation system.<br />
Reclaimed water services shall be located adjacent to sanitary service locations.<br />
Reclaimed water users that utilize re-pump irrigation systems for areas such as residential<br />
lawns, park facilities, playing fields, common areas, medians, etc., shall utilize the “Amiad”<br />
EBS scanner type filter, with 100-micron filtration and automatic backwash. These filters<br />
may not be necessary for bulk users that irrigate areas such as golf courses, nurseries,<br />
etc., with larger diameter sprinkler heads.<br />
Locations for the installation of Public Notification Signage shall be sited on the drawings<br />
with details of the standard.<br />
Use of reclaimed water through hoses, faucets, hose bibs, or couplers is prohibited.<br />
Reclaimed water is prohibited inside buildings.<br />
Temporary connections utilizing reclaimed water for use as make-up water for <strong>construction</strong><br />
is prohibited unless explicit written permission from the Reuse Coordinator has been<br />
granted.<br />
