The emission inventory basis for mobile sources is fuel use information
from the Danish energy statistics. In addition, background data for road
transport (fleet and mileage), air traffic (aircraft type, flight numbers,
origin and destination airports) and non-road machinery (engine no.,
engine size, load factor and annual working hours) are used to make
the emission estimates sufficiently detailed. Emission data mainly
comes from the EMEP/EEA Air Pollutant Emission Inventory Guidebook.
However, for railways, measurements specific to Denmark are
used.
In the Danish emission database, all activity rates and emissions are defined
in SNAP sector categories (Selected Nomenclature for Air Pollution),
according to the CollectER system. The emission inventories are
prepared from a complete emission database based on the SNAP sectors.
The aggregation to the sector codes used for both the UNFCCC
and UNECE Conventions is based on a correspondence list between
SNAP and CFR/NFR classification codes shown in Table 3.20 below
(mobile sources only).
