Worm Powder by Aviomed
An extremely safe and effective combination
of Pyrantel pamoate and Praziquantel in
special powdered form. The two active ingredients
combine very well to ensure maximum effectiveness
against the three most common pigeon worms,
(Roundworm, Hairworms and Tapeworms) The product
is completely safe and does not cause feather "burn" of the feathers,
so it may be used during the breeding season. It is extremely
mild and will not cause vomiting or loss of racing performance. Mix
5gr (1 heaped teaspoon) with four teaspoons of water, leave stand
for 30 minutes, and mix to make a paste. Add this to about a quarter
pound of grain and feed to the birds. Make a second batch in the
evening to be sure all birds are treated. Treat again in 12 weeks and
alternate with Endo/Ekto tablets. Pyrantel pamoate 10%, Praziquantel
2 % and special adherent base 88%.
#2515 Avioworm Powder 100 gr. $17.00
Wormout Gel
Suitable for the worming of non food
producing birds. Wormout Gel is ideal
for crop needle administration however for
ease of use it should be delivered in water. Kills Thread
worms, Tape worms, Round worms, Caecal worms,
and Hook worms in caged and aviary birds and pigeons.
Using a small container (preferably with a lid that can be
screwed on) measure 9 ml/cc of water and add to your
container. Prime the wormout gel pump and add 1 ml/
cc of the gel to 9 ml/cc of water. Screw your lid on and shake it for
5-10 seconds to break up the gel. The dose of the diluted wormout
gel mixture is 0.5 (1/2) ml/cc per 100 grams body weight via crop
needle. Remember that the crop needle will have an air space in it
which may effect the dose that is actually delivered. For instance, a
12 gauge crop needle has an empty space about 0.45 ml/cc. You
need to allow for the air space in whatever needle you are using. You
need to know the weight of your birds, any good "bird book" will give
the average weight of various species. The active constituents are
Praziquantel 20 g/L and Oxfendazole 20 g/L for the treatment
of threadworms (capillaria). The 100 ml/cc and the 250 ml/cc sizes
deliver 1 ml/cc for each pump. All aviary birds add 2 ml/cc to 160
ml/cc (2 pumps to 1 1/3 cup) of drinking water for 2 days. Aviaries
should be treated at least 4 times a year. 160 ml/cc is 1/6 of a gallon.
Remember to Mix 1t in a container with water and shake up before
adding the drinking water. It is what I use.
