I get a lot of calls on how to put weight on our pigeons, and listed on
this page are products that will help in that area. Keep in mind that
unexpected loss of weight in pigeons when sick pigeons lose weight
it is called “going light” and this is a symptom, not a disease. Much
like you have, for some unknown reason, you do not feel well, a symptom,
but you do not know why. Droppings analysis from the pigeons
will most likely tell you the problem. If the birds seem healthy but light,
than you may want to try something from this page. I have had good
luck with raw peanuts. If the pigeons have never eaten peanuts, they
may not want to try them. If they leave peanuts in the feeder, do not
feed them again until they do eat them, once they accept the peanuts
as feed, they will actually grow to like them, and eat them first.
Brewer’s Yeast + Garlic
Brewer's Yeast is a great source of Vitamin B
Complex as well as a source of protein. Garlic
offers the benefits of a better moult, white nose wattles,
aids in digestion, reduces stress, and birds love
it. 1 tablespoon per gallon of drinking water or 1 tablespoon
feed moistened with an oil or #2531 Avio Gel. Use as often as
desired on about 21 lbs. of feed, but a minimum of 2 times a week.

Brewer's Yeast Powder by Natural
Vitaminor is a brewer’s yeast purchased directly from
brewers. Dried thoroughly, it fully preserves the nutritional
qualities. Vitaminor is a 100% natural powder rich in

that Vitaminor’s brewer’s yeast has a very favorable effect on fertility

Glucose + by Versele-Laga
Gloucose + is a Natural sugar present in a lot of plants. It is
easy to digest and is absorbed directly into the bloodstream,
this makes Glucose + extremely suitable as a quick energy provider
after a long exertion. By adding vitamin to the glucose the pigeon
is simultaneously provided with important substances for the proper
functioning of the metabolism and the pigeon can recover much faster.
Composition is Glucose (99.8% / Lactose. 2-5 level tablespoons
per liter (a bit more than a quart) of drinking water on return from a
long flight and may also be given in the drinking water when using
medicines to improve the flavor of the water. Change daily. Packed in

Change the water as often as possible, at least once a day.
Apple Cider Vinegar creates an acidic environment in the drinking
water and makes it much harder for bacteria such as Paratyphoid
to survive. Use only organic Apple Cider Vinegar such
as found at Foy’s. The organic apple cider vinegar will have a
cloudy appearance and needs shaken before use.

Mild laxative and conditioner for
pigeons. For pigeons off feed,
listless or “going light”. For breeding
powerful youngsters and to increase appetite.
For rearing young birds, from the
6th or 7th day give 1 pill in the morning and 1 pill in the evening. For
sick birds, give 2 pills in the morning and 2 pills in the evening. For
appetite loss, give 1 or 2 pills in the morning and in the evening.

to support the liver function. B-Chol includes vitamin B-12 which
helps in good condition. B-Chol promotes the moult thru the presence
of amino acids. Sulphuric amino acids are essential for the
production of keratin, the building blocks for feathers and skin.

not eat the first time it is in front of them, but once
they eat it, they will eat it before anything else.

TIP: In my loft I use yellow sulfer swept into the floor and all the
cracks then put sand down. Spray the loft with Virkon S and my birds
are on apple cider vinegar, 1 T. per gallon from the time the season
stops until the next season starts. I put one of my friends on this program,
his birds were dying 1 or 2 a day, I cleaned his coop, put sulfer
and sand down, in 2 days no more birds died and he hasn't lost one
since. Also , go in your loft at night, once or twice a week, spray the
Oxine directly on the birds. That seemed to stop the virus dead in
its tracks. Maybe it will help. It's worth a try. That's what I do and I
