Place it on the floor or screw it to the wall or stack 4 high. We offer Foy's Nesting Box in the below sizes, but we will be glad to quote you a cost for a size to meet any need. These are shipped fully assembled. All side walls are 1/2" top, bottom and front board are 3/16" and the rear piece is 1/4". The exterior is sanded smooth and should you decide to paint it, you need no prep work. The board in front is 3 1/2" high. Some folks have their own nest fronts or have a particular need for an empty box. I have used just the box without a front in one of my lofts and am quite satisfied with the results. I place a clay or heavy nest bowl in one corner of the box and have absolutely no problems. It is very easy to clean the box as there is nothing to catch the scraper on. I remove the nest bow and in a matter of seconds, the box is clean and I put the bowl back in. The box outside measurements are 16" from to back, 25 1/2" left to right and 12 3/4" high. I stack them 4 high, and when the breeding season is over, it is very easy to remove the boxes, as there is no need to attach them to a wall or to each other. Removing the boxes after breeding season gives me more room in the loft and I can add perches for the cocks or hens after I separate them. It worked fine, but the center divider had a tendency to move. I discussed this problem with John Raber, our shop manager. John has come up with a new design. I am quite pleased with it after testing it in my loft. The divider is very easy to remove when you want to clean the nest box. The new design now locks the divider in place, and will not move. The idea of the divider is to allow the pair to have young on one side and then the second set of eggs is laid on the other side. The size of the box is such that you may also use a nest front such as our #115 or #120. 25 1/2" x 16" x 12 3/4" high. The tray is made to slide into the bottom of a nest box, the same size as our #1016 Simplicity Nest Box. The tray slides right into the bottom of a box that is 24" from left to right and 16" deep. It has a 4' board in the front, from left to right and a divider as part of the tray, to create a double nesting box. The unit may be used for mating individual pairs, and is the pairs permanent home. For the Racing Pigeon flyers, it may be used as a widowhood nest box. You get two plastic nest fronts that swing in as needed, and we supply a door that slides up and down, you may install the door on whichever side you want. We ship the unit disassembled, but it is easy and quick to put together. We install all the black nest front holders, so you do not have to worry about where they go. All the screws are supplied and we pre-drill the hole so that you know where to place the screws. The first time I used one, I put it together in less than 15 minutes. Completely sanded and you may want to consider painting it before or after assembly. The total unit is 30 1/2" from left to right, 15 1/2" front to back and 30 1/2" high. Each nest box unit is 14" left to right, 14" front to back and 14 1/4" high. We supply the plastic fronts. If you decide to hang the unit on the wall, we suggest you put a screw in each interior corner.
