NPA LEGACY FUND
As a pigeon fancier for over 65 years, and owner of a pigeon business for over 25 years, I have
witnessed the slow decline of the hobby. There a number of reasons for this decline, and most can
figure out the reasons. Eleven years ago, some far sighted National Pigeon Fanciers, decided to
look at the future a create a vehicle to fund projects that would help the great hobby of keeping
pigeons. The NPA Legacy Fund Trust was created and started to accept contributions. The fund
raising started out slowly, people had to get used to the idea and many waited to be sure the idea
worked and would grow. Although the National Pigeon Association Legacy Fund Trust is an arm of the National Pigeon Association, it is meant to benefit or help the
entire pigeon hobby. The Trust accepts contributions from all those who have an interest in supporting the great hobby. We have received contributions from family
members of pigeon fanciers, both in honor of or in memorial. We have received contributions from non NPA members who enjoy their pigeons and want to help the
hobby. Many clubs have sent in contributions and some of these clubs do or plan to, make a contribution every year. All contributions are cumulative, meaning every
time you contribute, your contributions accumulate and you are getting closer to the next contribution level. Contributions, when they reach $100.00 or more, are
recognized in the National Pigeon Association Quarterly, twice a year. The contribution will also be listed on the NPA website.
Gold Band Level The first level, which is $100.00 which is needed to be listed forever in the Quarterly and the web site. A certificate is sent to the contributor in case
of a memorial or the to the person honored.
Ruby Band Level
Platinum Band Level
The second level which is the $500.00 level, and a Ruby Certificate, in a frame, is awarded.
The third level is reached when contributions reach the $1000.00 level. Another appreciative framed certificate is sent.
Other levels are in place, they are;
Diamond $5000.00 Presidents $10,000.00 Vision $50,000.00
Some of our members have included the Trust in their wills, and this is a great way of their recognizing the need and doing what they can to continue this great hobby.
One such person has made us aware of a future contribution of $15,000, and others have also added the Trust to their will. If you are person who would consider
adding the Trust to your will, please inform us of this future contribution.
Listed below are all of the contributors, to date. Another way to help is to consider donating pigeon related items or pigeons. The Trust plans on having an auction in
the future and each item sold at this auction, will be recognized and if the contribution garners $100.00 or more, the appropriate level will be listed as if it were a cash
contribution. If the auctioned items do not reach the $100.00 dollar level or for that matter is close to any level, the contributor may add to the amount. For instance,
your contribution reaches $75.00, if you send in a contribution of $25.00 and you will have attained the Gold Band Level.
