Leg length inequality is a common complication
following THR. There is an important
and substantial difference between true and
apparent leg length inequality. Preoperative
planning, including patient education and
templating can help prevent the problem.
Appropriate implant systems, including full
sizing options and offset capabilities can help
the surgeon avoid LLD. Pre-op, intra-op and
post-op techniques to prevent and manage
LLD are discussed.
