• large sheets paper/cardboard • scissors<br />
• markers • glue, tape or stapler<br />
• construction paper<br />
1. Choose one word family from the list below and ask pupils to think of as many words as possible<br />
that contain that word ending.<br />
2. Write these words on cardboard to assist the pupils.<br />
3. Show the pupils how to cut several construction paper strips and write a different word from the<br />
chart on each strip.<br />
4. Next, use the strips to make a paper chain. (Glue, tape or staple the chain links together.)<br />
5. After making one word family chain as a class, instruct each pupil to make one of his or her own.<br />
6. The pupil should select a different word family, make a list of words and then use the words to make<br />
a paper chain. Below is a list of word families from which to choose.<br />
