We are all in the same industry and I’m not going to talk
about the effort we make in between receiving the brief
and making out the invoice. I’m also going to pass the facts
of how many agencies and venues are competing for
a breakfast and what happens during the purchase process.
Just for a small breakfast organization, many industries
get together to work. I would like to focus on this. We
can summarize which industries we work with by only
writing about the branches of the employees. Let’s imagine
the same system for an international organization and
think about our economic contribution and which industries
and branches we sweat blood with.
How much do we measure this platform which we contribute
all together with the many industries we work with?
What is our economic contribution, do we have any cultural
or social benefits? Are we aware of our power? If not,
are we done after we finish the breakfast and make out
the invoice?
Of course we are not done, how can we be done? We must
own the industry associations whether we are a member
of them or not, we must support the shareholders who
add value to the industry, we must be together no matter
what and we must collaborate. We must do all these things
so that we could be heard and we could destroy the statement
of “now they are going to cut off our budgets and
our industry will suffer first” even after small problems.
We must be together so that we could do more projects
together. Our slogans dissolve after the night we create
them for, let’s not let it happen… Own your slogans like
“Feel the Power”, “Just Do It”, “Think Different”, “Better
Together”, “Add Value”, “Because I’m Worth It”, “Make
People Happy” and don’t let them stuck at that moment,
own your own world and don’t become “the one who gets
sacrificed after the smallest problem”.
Rumi and Nietzsche are standing side by side on the coast.
One of them says “I’m a drop and I will perish when I
unite with the sea.” The other says “The sea is made up of
the drops and that’s when I reunite with my being.” You
probably guessed which one said which. If the linked dots
create a bigger whole, then they can stand together.
If the goal is creating something better, each dot should
develop itself devoted to surpass its full potential and entire
existence. That’s when we can create the bigger dot.
