The event was organized by Discover Events in association
with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade
(ICDT) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic
Countries (SMIIC). In the name of World Halal Summit,
Emre Ete gave the opening speech of the event. After
him, Deputy Trade Minister Gonca Yılmaz Batur, Deputy
Treasury and Finance Minister Nurettin Nebati, Standards
and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries Board President
Dr. Saad Bin Othman Al Kasabi, Palestine National
Economy Minister Abeer Odeh, the Islamic Centre for Development
of Trade General Director Dr. Hassane Hzaine
and International Islamic Law Academy Informatics Director
Mohamed Basher M.Abdulmuhsen Haddat gave their
speeches.
60 speakers from 25 countries gave their speeches at the
World Halal Summit this year and 5000 delegates from 38
countries and students from various universities followed
the conferences intensely. In the context of 6th OIC Halal
Expo, 316 national and international companies from 35
countries exhibited. 200 buyers from Middle East, Africa,
Europe, Asia, South and North America attended the B2B
programs of the exhibition. The summit and the expo were
visited by 38.750 national and international visitors from
more than 80 countries.
As MICE Magazine, we spoke with Discover Events Board
President Yunus Ete and he said: “The world’s biggest halal
organization, World Halal Summit and the 6th OIC Halal
Expo, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic
of Turkey was successfully held at Eurasia Show and Art
Center on 29 November - 02 December 2018. We started
working with our expert teams a year before the event. For
this organization, with the leadership of our Ministry of
Trade, more than 20 ministries and corporations managed
a consulting committee and regular meetings were held.
We especially focused on international promotion this
year. We attended 10 exhibitions in Croatia, Malesia, Morocco,
Dubai and Russia as speakers and exhibitors in order
to promote ourselves. With 57 OIC countries, we managed
our corporate relations with the other countries’ official
representatives and reached out to everyone. We reached
out to all industry representatives, trade chambers, industry
chambers, governorships and municipalities in Turkey.
We also exhibited in various exhibitions within the country
and visited most of them. Our social media and digital ad
channels also increased the number of our audience.”
