Perfect Eagle and European Brand Institute<br />

launched 2018 the first brand study in the golf<br />

sector, the European Golf Brand Study.<br />

The questionnaire prepared<br />

by EBI is based on the latest<br />

standard ISO 20671 for brand<br />

evaluation. About 500 golfers<br />

from all over the D-A-CH region took<br />

part in both surveys. The results<br />

are reviewed in the Brand Strength<br />

Score and the Brand Value Rating.<br />

So far the most valuable golf<br />

brands and golf destinations have<br />

been evaluated in 2 studies.<br />

The most valuable golf brands<br />

In an anonymous online survey, 75<br />

golf brands were divided and rated<br />

according to the 8 elements of brand<br />

evaluation ISO 20671 in 5 different<br />

categories. The results of the European<br />

Golf Brand Study list the TOP<br />

10 brands in the following categories:<br />

clothing, golf balls, golf clubs,<br />

shoes and trolleys.<br />

In the results, (golf-) megabrands<br />

such as Titleist, Callaway, and<br />

Adidas are among the front runners<br />

which have successfully distinguished<br />

their brand with quality<br />

and innovation. But also Scandinavian<br />

labels such as J. Lindeberg and<br />

Galvin Green were able to prevail<br />

and compete for the Top 3.<br />

Golf destination brands<br />

In part II of the European Golf Brand<br />

Study 59 golf destinations were<br />

rated according to the 8 elements of<br />

the brand evaluation of ISO 20671.<br />

The cradle of golf Scotland scores<br />

in the European brand study 2018<br />

with tradition and uniqueness. With<br />

Ireland and England the classic golf<br />

destinations complete the podium.<br />

Quality, service and price are the<br />

main features of a valuable destination<br />

brand and the driving force<br />

factors in the three strongest international<br />

destinations Mauritius,<br />

United Arab Emirates and Barbados.<br />
