to schedule and the project was on track to be<br />
completed on time at the end of July. Thanks go to the<br />
contractor, Canvas, for maintaining the momentum on<br />
this significant assignment.<br />

It will be wonderful to see skaters and riders of all<br />
ages and abilities trying out the facility during <strong>August</strong><br />
– be sure to look out for information about an official<br />
Skate Jam opening event on the Council’s website and<br />
Facebook page. Take the opportunity to come along<br />
and showcase your skills!<br />
Great news too on the floodlight front. Planning<br />
permission has been granted for four floodlights which<br />
will be installed in September, opening up the possibility<br />
for longer skating hours all year round.<br />
The development of the new skatepark helps to meet<br />
one of the Council’s five long-term strategic objectives<br />
for the town: to improve and maintain the recreational<br />
facilities. It is hoped it will bring great pleasure and<br />
prove an invaluable addition to The Salts. A skatepark<br />
spokesperson added, ‘This skatepark is paid for from<br />
Section 106 funds, a generous donation from the<br />
NPS Lions and a grant from Sport England. The whole<br />
project has therefore been made possible at no cost<br />
to the taxpayer thanks to the diligent work of <strong>Seaford</strong><br />
Town Council officers.’<br />
