Make it a

Lifelong Pursuit

Sierra College, Nevada County Campus

Sierra College/

Grass Valley

This community college is a resource

for the entire area. While some students

continue on to four-year institutions, others

earn degrees or certificates. There are a

variety of non-credit enrichment courses

available as well.

The campus is located off Sierra College

Drive not far from East Main Street.

Degree and certificate programs are

available locally and online, so area

residents don’t need to drive to the main

campus in Rocklin.

Sierra College is also involved in

Community Education, known as

Kaleidoscope. With over 200 classes

available in Grass Valley, Rocklin and

Roseville, categories range from

computers and finance to gardening, the

outdoors, music, writing and photography.

Classes for older adults are available

through the Osher Lifelong Learning

Institute or OLLI. (see Page 140).

Sierra College/Truckee

The Tahoe-Truckee Campus offers

associate degrees, as well as Community

Education classes, that include everything

from landscape photography to

conversational Spanish. The college is

located in a 25,000 square foot building at

11001 College Trail, Truckee off Hwy. 89.

The Nevada County Library System

consists of six facilities including a history

library that contains research material.

Library services are provided for everyone

from preschoolers to elderly shut-ins. They

include educational and cultural programs,

events for the whole family, and Nevada

County Reads and Writes. A popular spot

is the Collaborative Technology Center at

the Madelyn Helling Library.

Also available are an online library catalog,

public computers, job and career information,

Library to Go (downloadable audio and

ebooks) and teen activities.
