Bear Necessities
An armchair which deftly straddles the
traditional and modern, it’s hard to fathom
that the CH78 Lounge Chair was originally
introduced in 1954. Re-released by Carl Hansen
& Søn as part of the iconic Danish designer,
Hans J. Wegner’s catalogue, the chair’s sculptural
silhouette is defined by a sensual curviness that
offers up a warm embrace - which no doubt gave
rise to its affectionate nickname, Mama Bear.
