ACQUISITION BOUNDARY AREA<br />
The acquisition boundary is an effective longterm<br />
planning tool for university and community<br />
decision-making when particular parcels become<br />
available. The campus plan maintains the<br />
university's existing boundary within the campus<br />
property defined by Camp Wisdom Road to<br />
the north, University Hills Boulevard to the west,<br />
vacant property to the east, and the DART line to<br />
the south.<br />
The university seeks to identify potential areas for<br />
campus expansion to accommodate continued<br />
enrollment growth. Future development could<br />
be an opportunity to brand the university area<br />
as a college district, and promote a walkable,<br />
mixed-use environment that supports increased<br />
campus enrollment, visibility, and accessibility.<br />
The university will continue to work with the<br />
city and local organizations to encourage<br />
reinvestment in this area that can serve students,<br />
faculty, staff, and the broader community.<br />
