Dubai Design Week<br />

Dubai Design Week is an annual event that<br />

was first launched <strong>in</strong> 2015, and s<strong>in</strong>ce <strong>the</strong>n it<br />

has become <strong>the</strong> largest creative festival <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Middle East. The festival attracts a large number<br />

of visitors from around <strong>the</strong> world, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

designers, artists, architects, entrepreneurs,<br />

and creative enthusiasts. The festival features a<br />

diverse range of exhibitions, <strong>in</strong>stallations, talks,<br />

workshops, and competitions that showcase<br />

<strong>the</strong> latest design trends and <strong>in</strong>novations from<br />

<strong>the</strong> region and beyond. The festival is held<br />

<strong>in</strong> partnership with Dubai Design District, a<br />

hub for design and <strong>in</strong>novation <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> UAE. The<br />

event is under <strong>the</strong> patronage of Her Highness<br />

Sheikha Latifa b<strong>in</strong>t Mohammed b<strong>in</strong> Rashid Al<br />

Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts<br />

Authority, and it is organized by <strong>the</strong> Dubai<br />

Design and Fashion Council.<br />

Dubai Design Week provides a unique<br />

opportunity for emerg<strong>in</strong>g designers to<br />

showcase <strong>the</strong>ir work and connect with <strong>in</strong>dustry<br />

professionals. The event features <strong>the</strong> region’s<br />

premier design fair, Downtown Design, which<br />

showcases high-end contemporary design<br />

products from around <strong>the</strong> world. The fair attracts<br />

a large number of exhibitors and visitors, and<br />

it provides a platform for design bus<strong>in</strong>esses to<br />

connect with buyers, architects, and <strong>in</strong>terior<br />

designers. In addition to <strong>the</strong> fair, Dubai<br />

Design Week features a range of exhibitions,<br />

<strong>in</strong>stallations, and pop-up shops that showcase<br />

<strong>the</strong> latest design trends and <strong>in</strong>novations. The<br />

event also <strong>in</strong>cludes <strong>the</strong> Global Grad Show, which<br />

is <strong>the</strong> world’s largest ga<strong>the</strong>r<strong>in</strong>g of graduate<br />

design projects. The show features <strong>in</strong>novative<br />

projects from over 150 universities and design<br />

schools from around <strong>the</strong> world, provid<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

unique platform for emerg<strong>in</strong>g talent to showcase<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir work. Dubai Design Week also features a<br />

diverse range of talks, workshops, and panel<br />

discussions that cover a wide range of topics.<br />

Live Our Heritage<br />

Live Our Heritage is a popular cultural event<br />

that has been runn<strong>in</strong>g for several years and<br />

attracts visitors from all over <strong>the</strong> world. The<br />

festival takes place <strong>in</strong> Dubai’s Global Village, one<br />

of <strong>the</strong> most prom<strong>in</strong>ent cultural dest<strong>in</strong>ations <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

city. The event celebrates Emirati heritage and<br />

culture, showcas<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> country’s rich history<br />

and traditions. The festival is organized by<br />

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and runs for<br />

six months, start<strong>in</strong>g from October until <strong>April</strong><br />

of <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g year.<br />

Live Our Heritage offers visitors a wide range<br />

of events and activities that promote local<br />

handicrafts and traditional Emirati art forms.<br />

The festival aims to educate <strong>the</strong> community<br />

about <strong>the</strong> cultural, social, and economic<br />

significance of <strong>the</strong> Emirati crafts sector, and<br />

to encourage <strong>the</strong> preservation of Emirati<br />

heritage. Visitors can participate <strong>in</strong> workshops<br />

and demonstrations of traditional handicrafts<br />

such as weav<strong>in</strong>g, pottery, and embroidery,<br />

and learn about <strong>the</strong> history and significance<br />

of <strong>the</strong>se crafts. The festival also features a<br />

variety of enterta<strong>in</strong>ment activities <strong>in</strong>spired by<br />

Emirati culture, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g national folk songs,<br />

dance performances, and traditional music.<br />

Visitors can enjoy local cuis<strong>in</strong>e and sample<br />

traditional Emirati dishes such as Machboos,<br />

Harees, and Luqaimat. The festival offers a<br />

fun and festive atmosphere that is suitable<br />

for families and people of all ages. Live Our<br />

Heritage has been grow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> popularity over<br />

<strong>the</strong> years, with an <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g number of visitors<br />

attend<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> festival each year. The event<br />

attracts both local and <strong>in</strong>ternational visitors.<br />
