Dasha Vong: Exploring empathy and spirit
through color

Dasha Vong is a student of the
renowned Russian artist Borisova
Anna Vladimirovna, who has
completed her studies at the
Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture
and Architecture Ilya Glazunov. She has
been exposed to various styles of painting
including realism, impressionism, pointillism,
and Russian abstract expressionism, having
been taught by Constantine Inal-Ipa, a
member of the UNESCO Union of Artists
in 1996 and a professional union of artists
in 2007.
Dasha Vong has participated in several
Moscow exhibitions, and her paintings are in
private collections in Moscow and the UAE.
Her artistic journey began with restoring
antique furniture where she discovered
her love for colors. Five years ago, she
started exploring fluid art, followed by
realism and pointillism, and now she works
in abstraction. The pandemic provided her
with the opportunity to delve deeper into
her passion for art.
Dasha Vong believes that stories heal
the soul, whether expressed through music,
text, or color. Her artwork is empathetic and
possesses a spirit that resonates with the
viewer. If one can connect with her work,
then she has successfully conveyed a
story that they can relate to, and they will
no longer feel alone. She expresses pure
emotion on her canvas and is unafraid of
being incomprehensible and different. Her
goal is to find her path to harmony, blending
retro and modern elements, as she believes
our emotions are connected to the past.
Dasha Vong’s preferred medium is oil,
and she draws inspiration from the works
of Gerhard Richter and Grace Hartigan.
