“Th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g part of life, life conta<strong>in</strong>s a big story, those stories narrated by my thoughts <strong>in</strong> a<br />
simplified way by camera obscura,” says Faisal<br />

Faisal Al Rais is an Emirati conceptual<br />
artist and photographer born <strong>in</strong> Dubai<br />
<strong>in</strong> 1988. He holds a bachelor’s degree<br />
<strong>in</strong> media communication and public<br />
relations from <strong>the</strong> Higher College of Technology<br />
<strong>in</strong> Dubai.<br />
Faisal’s passion for photography began at <strong>the</strong><br />
age of 10, and he has s<strong>in</strong>ce established himself<br />
as a professional <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> art and photography<br />
community. He has participated <strong>in</strong> numerous<br />
exhibitions both locally and <strong>in</strong>ternationally,<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> SIKKA Art Fair, RAKFAF, Sharjah<br />
Biennale, Cannes Film Festival, and Biennale<br />
Venice.<br />
His work has been recognized with several<br />
awards, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry of Culture and<br />
Knowledge Development Flag Day Photography<br />
award, <strong>the</strong> Dubai Skydive photography<br />
competition by Sheikh Hamdan B<strong>in</strong> Mohammed<br />
Al Maktoum Photography award, <strong>the</strong> Al Nawa<br />
Awards by UAEU, and <strong>the</strong> Habib Al Redha<br />
Media Innovation Award <strong>in</strong> photography and<br />
short film field.<br />
Faisal is a member of various art societies<br />
and groups, such as FIAP, GPU, UPI, ESP,<br />
DIHVA, and Akass Visual Arts. His photography<br />
is heavily <strong>in</strong>fluenced by street photographers<br />
Henri Cartier-Bresson and Vivian Maier. Through<br />
his art, he aims to deconstruct, reconstruct, and<br />
highlight <strong>the</strong> beauty of life’s simplest th<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />
