Exploring human emotions and
environmental issues through art,
meet Emirati artist Rashid Al Mulla

Rashid Al Mulla is an Emirati artist
known for his skill in portrait and
environmental art. He was born and
raised in Sharjah and currently resides
in Dubai. His portraits are notable for their
ability to convey human emotions, while his
environmental pieces aim to raise awareness
on important issues such as water scarcity,
deforestation, and animal cruelty.
Rashid’s work has been featured in various
galleries and events, and is included in both
private and public collections throughout the
UAE. Notable events where his work has been
exhibited include the Sikka Art Fair, the Annual
Exhibition in Sharjah, and the Faike exhibitions
at FN design in Dubai.
In 2019, Rashid was commissioned by The
Cultural Office of Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammad
Al Maktoum, along with nine other artists, to
create a 140-meter-long mural. He has also
created live art pieces at events such as the
Sikka Art and Design Festival in 2016, Arab
Travel Market, and Mirdif City Center for the
Ministry of Culture.
In his latest exhibition at the Sikka Art and
Design Festival in 2023, Rashid showcased
a collection of digital art on canvas, including
“Counting Stars,” “Ocean Protector,” and “Don’t
Be Fooled.” His collection is imbued with hidden
messages and symbols, which he hopes will
guide viewers towards fulfilling their personal
missions.
