The art of self-sacralization and fluid
identity expansion

Christiane Peschek’s works are set in
a phygital world of self-sacralization
and fluid identity expansion. Through
images and multi-sensory spatial
concepts, dialogues marked by intimacy and
self-idealization are created.
Consistently, Peschek’s projects revolve
around the observation of the body on both
sides of the screen, exploring fluid identities.
Rituals, retreats, retouched images, scents, and
sensual ethereal materials such as the deliberate
use of Wi-fi radiation and low frequencies which
have become hybrids of virtual transformation
in a post-internet reality. Peschek interacts with
near-body technologies such as smartphones
to explore the “hyper-ego,” using the surface
of touchscreens to create experiences at the
intersection of technology and cosmology.
Peschek has exhibited internationally in
galleries and institutions, including the NRW
Forum Düsseldorf, Museum Marta Herford,
Benaki Museum Athens, and Kunsthaus Graz.
Her works are found in several collections,
such as the ING DiBa Art Collection,
Artothek des Bundes Museum Belvedere21,
Museum für Moderne Kunst Salzburg, and
Kupferstichkabinett Vienna.
