provoke a ‘double-take’
and evoke emotions of
intrigue and curiosity

Roudaina Fardon is an impressionist
artist based in the Middle East, who
draws inspiration from her upbringing
in Beirut, Lebanon. She pursued her
undergraduate studies in fine arts in Beirut
before immigrating to California, USA, where
she pursued a graduate-level art education.
Her work is characterized by her unique play
on color contrast and unique perspectives,
which aim to provoke a ‘double-take’. While
she rarely restricts herself in the pursuit of the
subject, she finds those featured in her work
from within her own life, and her work always
finds some form of connection to her story.
Roudaina’s recent work focuses on the
rich history of her home region, composed
of dreamlike portraits of travelers and eyecatching
mosaic-style renditions of the world’s
most modern city. Her painting technique
involves the use of acrylic paints on canvas
to create mosaic-inspired landscapes that
highlight the beauty of nature. She uses precise
application of geometric shapes, leaving space
between each color to give an overall mosaiclike
appearance. Her use of light, shadow,
intricate details, and vibrant hues brings a
fresh perspective to the traditional landscape
genre. The geometric shapes are combined
to create a larger, unified image, with spaces
between the shapes revealing glimpses of the
underlying surface. Through her meticulous
brushwork and the use of color and form, she
creates stunning works that arouse emotion
and intrigue.
Roudaina held an exhibition in Dubai recently
titled “The Mystical Beauty of Nature” where she
showcased her latest creations. The exhibition
was a perfect opportunity to experience the
enchanting magic of her mosaic paintings and
gain deeper insight into her creative process.
