Sun City Singles Dilemma: A 65-year-old
Sun City widow went out on a blind date with a
75-year-old man. Returning to her daughter’s
house around 10:30 she was quite upset.
“What happened?” asked the concerned
daughter. “I had to slap his face three times.” She finally admitted.
“You mean…?” fumbled her daughter. “Yes“ she answered. “He fell
asleep three times!”
And the Lord said: A man on his motorcycle was riding along the
California beach when suddenly the sky opened up above his head and,
in a booming voice, God said, “Because you have tried to be faithful to
me in all ways, I will grant you one wish.”
The biker pulled over and said, “Lord, build a bridge to Hawaii so I can
ride over anytime I want.”
The Almighty replied, “Your request is materialistic. Think of the
enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking, the supports required
reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would
take!
“Of course, I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for
worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could
possibly help mankind.”
The man thought and thought about it for a long time. Finally, he
said, “God, I wish that I, and all men, could understand women. I want to
know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the
silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say nothing’s
wrong, why they snap and complain when I offer to help, and how I can
make a woman truly happy.” God replied, “You want that bridge with two
or four lanes?”
And that’s how the fight started: My wife told me that at my age,
I should just embrace my mistakes…so I gave her a hug.
And finally: I bought my Mom a mug which says, “Happy Mother’s
Day from the World’s Worst Son.” I forgot to mail it, but I think she
knows
