July 20th: “ALL THE PRESIDENT’S
MEN” - One of the most thrilling movies
ever made, hailed as the most riveting and
devastating political detective story of the
century. Two Washington Post reporters
pursue the story of Watergate, the biggest
presidential scandal in US history as it unfolded
in real time. Starring Robert Redford
and Dustin Hoffman. Winner of four Academy
Awards. Rated R.
August 24th: “A RIVER RUNS THROUGH
IT” - One of the most moving stories of our
time, winner of three Academy Awards,
this 1992 film was directed by Robert
Redford and stars Craig Sheffer, Brad Pitt,
Tom Skerritt, Brenda Blethyn, and Emily
Lloyd. Based on journalist and author
Norman Maclean’s childhood experiences
in the 1920’s, A River Runs through it will
captivate you with vivid and stunning depictions
of life along Montana’s Big Blackfoot
River and its near magical blend of fly
fishing with the troubling affections of the
heart. Themes explored include prohibition,
racism, the Great Depression, the love
of language, life and growing up. Rated R.
