and Fashion Shows that raised eye popping amounts of money for them.
What makes Meister such a key player in the city of Delray is her
large network of volunteers, business partners and social savviness.
When she attends events (which is quite often) Meister sparkles with
graciousness, goodness and humor. Though she won’t admit to it, this
Delray goddess of goodness is quite the brainiac.
Those who know her agree.
“Mimi Meister is a great visionary for the Chamber. She led the creation
of our We Are Delray event last year and took us to a whole new
level! Her ability to analyze the potential, and then execute an event to
reach beyond that potential, makes her a rockstar for the Chamber. She
has breathed confidence into our efforts, allowing our committees to
dream big and succeed even BIGGER,” said Lynn Van Lenten, Program
Director for the Delray Chamber.
Others feel the same way. “Mimi supports all non-profits and makes everyone
feel good for the mission, whether it’s St Vincents Ferrer School,
OSS, The Delray Beach Public Library, Sandoway House or the Delray
Chamber. We call her events the Friendraisers!” said Louise Glover.
When not strategizing for non-profits or speaking to groups, Meister
can be found traveling the globe with her husband Dan. If you visit her
Facebook Page you can stay home and just see the world through her
eyes (by way of her action-packed photos).
Meister is also perfectly coiffed at all times and usually looks as if she
just walked off the cover of “Vogue.” When asked about the origin of her
stye savvy, she laughs and says, “I worked in fine retail stores and know
how to take the traditional and make it modern.”
Perhaps, but everyone who sees Meister at openings and events
knows that her apparel palette is equal to that of a European aristocrat.
She has hats to match each outfit and owns 23 pearl necklaces.
But Meister’s outer appearance is only the entrance to her multilayer
of diverse talents. She was professionally trained to create formal
British tea parties and hosted one for over 100 women (at Chapel 4) for
the Chamber’s “Focus on Women” event. Her esteemed tea parties are
part of Meister’s charitable fundraising arm: Tea by the Sea With Mimi.”
There isn’t much Meister can’t do well. But, she is adamant that life in
Delray is about “Collaboration Not Competition.”
She is indeed the queen of collaboration. But, Meister’s selfless deeds
ripple through the Delray Beach terrain like a steady current, and her
bright light steers everyone to the finish line in record time.
That’s just the way she rolls.
