Art & Jazz on the Avenue
School’s out, schedules have been interrupted, and downtime
seems a little bit more frequent. If you’re looking for a break
from the boredom, look no further than Art & Jazz on the Avenue,
a downtown must since the ‘90s! July is Anti-Boredom Month
and is the perfect time to shake things up a bit, even if it’s just for a
night. Who knows, you might get the funky fever and continue the
streak for a few months. After the pandemic, the DDA decided to
move the event around to different downtown neighborhoods, and
this particular event is held on East Atlantic Avenue between Swinton
Avenue and Northeast Fifth Avenue (Federal Highway). Held Wednesday,
July 26 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., visitors can expect to enjoy live mural
artists from Emo, Jukes, Craig McInnins and Renata Rodrigues, as well
as live music entertainment from the Mylon Shambles Quartet, The
Flyers, Violet Jefferies Duo, Derek Mac 4 Piece, and Genitta’s Vendetta.
It’s an amazing local event that only happens four times a year, so you
have to be sure to attend and enjoy the opposite of boredom. Arrive
early and enjoy a bite to eat from your favorite local downtown eateries
or stay late and grab a drink before heading home - kidding! Before
heading out to dance the night away, obviously. It’s anti-boredom
month, take it seriously, people. Please visit www.downtowndelraybeach.com
Sandwiches By The Sea
Kids like them, adults like them, and four-legged friends love
the leftovers. Yup, it’s the quintessential sandwich that
brings the world together. Regardless if you love the triple
meat, pass on the LTO, or prefer only veggies on your hoagie,
there’s a sandwich out there that has your name (and bite marks)
written all over it. July is National Deli Sandwich Month and it’s
about time to fall in love - or show some never-ending drooling
dedication - to the hoagie. If you’re looking for a place that has
it figured out, and has had it figured out since 1981, look no further
than Sandwiches By The Sea. If you drive by or walk by too
quickly, you might miss it. But turn around! They dish out some
of the freshest sandwiches in town, and in about two minutes flat.
For less than $10, you can enjoy their custom sandwiches, which
your own. They also offer their famous yogurt shakes, wraps and
salad plates. The icing on the top is that they’re located within
walking distance to the beach so you can hop, skip and jump to
the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy your sandwich with toes in the sand.
