Sandoway Discovery Center is the<br />

perfect place to beat the heat<br />

with the entire family. Visitors of<br />

all ages can get an up-close view<br />

of Florida’s native and invasive<br />

reptile species, explore Southeast<br />

Florida’s largest private shell collection<br />

along with special events.<br />

One of the special exhibits this summer<br />

includes Shark Month, in which<br />

your children can be amazed by 100<br />

genuine shark and ray jaws including a Great<br />

White jaw, a fossil dig to find a shark tooth, and take<br />

a photo with a giant Megalodon jaw. There are also many hands-on<br />

exhibits including coral reef pool and shark feedings, an observation<br />

deck, a microscope room, and the Delray Wreck room, where<br />

visitors can spend time looking at diagrams and artist renditions<br />

of the S.S. Inchulva also known as the Delray Wreck.<br />

This 4,823 ton, 386 foot long steamship was destroyed<br />

and sunk off the coast of Delray Beach on Sept. 11,<br />

1903 by a large hurricane. The Sandoway Discovery<br />
