Mind Makeover<br />

If you are serious about transforming your<br />

body and getting in the best possible shape,<br />

there’s a couple of things you will need to<br />

do before you start your transformation.<br />

You might think I’m going to say…plan your workouts, clean<br />

out your pantry etc…but, not so fast! Before you can start<br />

to transform your body you have to transform your mind.<br />

Transforming your body is pretty much ALL mental. If your mind<br />

is not in the right place, your body will not follow suit. I’ve seen<br />

it time and time again in the fitness industry. Your mindset is<br />

the ONLY thing that separates you from having the body of your<br />

dreams. It’s the difference of reaching goals or missing them. With<br />

that being said, here are some things to consider before beginning<br />

your “physical” transformation.<br />

Start by identifying your current mindset. You<br />

may feel frustrated or discouraged about your<br />

current situation. You may feel you have tried<br />

everything to change your body with no<br />

success. You may feel defeated that you<br />

gain and lose the same 10 pounds over<br />

and over. Whatever your situation may<br />

be, you need to realize what feelings<br />

you’re having and why you’re having<br />

them. Once you identify your current<br />

mindset, you’ll be able to move forward<br />

with the right type of thinking.<br />

Which brings me to my next<br />

point, the power of positivity.<br />

A positive mindset is a MUST.<br />

We attract what we think about.<br />

We become what we think<br />

about. Positive thoughts yield<br />

positive results. If you start your<br />

transformation with doubts about your abilities or<br />

doubts about hitting your goals you are already setting<br />

up for failure. Know there will be obstacles<br />

along the way, but you need to have the right<br />

mindset so obstacles will not hinder your final<br />

result. Whatever life throws you (life is full of<br />

curveballs) you’ll be ready to handle any situation<br />

or bump in the road. Too many people<br />

give up on their goals because of circumstances<br />

totally within their control. So be ready, willing<br />

and able to say and do, “Whatever comes my way,<br />

I’ve got this and I WILL do this!”<br />

The next key to a successful transformation is<br />

that you have to want it bad enough. If not, then EVERY excuse in<br />

the book will stand in your way. “Oh, I didn’t have time to get to the<br />

gym. It was just a couple extra slices of pizza.” Every person that<br />

wants it bad enough, gets results. The clients that think they want<br />

to transform but don’t have a yearning in their heart for change,<br />

don’t. It’s really as simple as that. New clients will ask, “Do you<br />

think I have what it takes to transform?” And the answer is always,<br />

“Yes, anyone can transform as long as you want it bad enough!”<br />

When you want something bad enough, your heart and head are<br />

into it and with that your body will follow.<br />

The last piece of advice is to leave fear of failure at the<br />

door. There is nothing to be afraid of - the only way to<br />

fail is by not even trying. Fear is often what holds us<br />

back from going after the things we really want in<br />

life. What should really scare you is the thought<br />

of staying stagnant in your current situation.<br />

Imagine living in a body you’re uncomfortable<br />

with for the rest of your life…now<br />

that’s scary! The only way you can fail<br />

is by giving up. Understand that<br />

transforming your body is a marathon<br />

not a sprint. Every “body”<br />

is different and each person’s<br />

transformation will take a different<br />

amount of time. For some<br />

it will be three months, for some it will be one year.<br />

Whatever it is for YOU, don’t ever give up. Failure<br />

will never be an option.<br />

Before embarking on your physical transformation,<br />

make sure your mind is warmed up and<br />

ready to run with you. Our mind is the most<br />

powerful tool we have and it can either make<br />

us or break us. Use it wisely and your transformation<br />

will be a little easier than you think!<br />
