These aren’t just props for props’ sake—they
tell us something about the intent of these
characters. If they came to the haunted
manor with a baseball bat, perhaps they
anticipated trouble!
As I build up my rough character poses,
I need to make sure they work well in
the composition. I play with their lines of
action, so they aren’t all moving in the same
direction. This helps keep the illustration
