<strong>The</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g describes the factors which varied accord<strong>in</strong>g to changes <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>fant<br />

care rout<strong>in</strong>e for that night or l<strong>in</strong>ked to the sleep environment <strong>of</strong> the <strong>in</strong>fant analysed for<br />

placed <strong>in</strong> its own room for 3 out <strong>of</strong> 4 nights <strong>of</strong> study was coded as hav<strong>in</strong>g slept most<br />

commonly <strong>in</strong> its own room as opposed to room shar<strong>in</strong>g with his parents.<br />
