80% <strong>in</strong> newborns (Sadeh & Acebo, 2002, Acebo et al., 1999). For detection <strong>of</strong><br />

wakefulness the correlation is much weaker (quoted as 50% <strong>in</strong> adults) (Paquet et al<br />

2007).<br />

After consider<strong>in</strong>g the several different aspects <strong>of</strong> physiology measured <strong>in</strong> this study<br />

we will now consider the genetic control mechanisms, which determ<strong>in</strong>e the existence<br />

<strong>of</strong> 24 hour rhythms.<br />
