Command Functions<br />

DEFINE PAGESPACE Defines an entry for a page space data set.<br />

DEFINE PATH Defines a path directly over a base cluster or over an alternate index<br />

and its related base cluster.<br />

DEFINE USERCATALOG Defines a user catalog.<br />

DELETE Deletes catalogs, VSAM clusters, and non-VSAM data sets.<br />

DIAGN<strong>OS</strong>E Scans an integrated catalog facility basic catalog structure (BCS) or a<br />

VSAM volume data set (VVDS) to validate the data structures and<br />

detect structure errors.<br />

EXAMINE Analyzes and reports the structural consistency <strong>of</strong> either an index or<br />

data component <strong>of</strong> a KSDS VSAM data set cluster.<br />

EXPORT Disconnects user catalogs, and exports VSAM clusters and<br />

ICF catalog information about the cluster.<br />

EXPORT DISCONNECT Disconnects a user catalog.<br />

IMPORT Connects user catalogs, and imports VSAM cluster and its ICF catalogs<br />

information.<br />

IMPORT CONNECT Connects a user catalog or a volume catalog.<br />

LISTCAT Lists catalog entries.<br />

PRINT Used to print VSAM data sets, non-VSAM data sets, and catalogs.<br />

REPRO Performs the following functions:<br />

► Copies VSAM and non-VSAM data sets, user catalogs, master<br />

catalogs, and volume catalogs.<br />

► Splits ICF catalog entries between two catalogs.<br />

► Merges ICF catalog entries into another ICF user or master<br />

catalog.<br />

► Merges tape library catalog entries from one volume catalog into<br />

another volume catalog.<br />

SHCDS Lists SMSVSAM recovery associated with subsystems spheres and<br />

controls that allow recovery <strong>of</strong> a VSAM RLS environment.<br />

VERIFY Causes a catalog to correctly reflect the end <strong>of</strong> a data set after an error<br />

occurred while closing a VSAM data set. The error might have caused<br />

the catalog to be incorrect.<br />
