ISMF product relationships<br />

ISMF works with the following products:<br />

► Interactive <strong>System</strong> Productivity Facility/Program Development Facility (ISPF/PDF), which<br />

provides the edit, browse, data, and library utility functions.<br />

► TSO/Extensions (TSO/E), TSO CLISTs and commands.<br />

► DFSMS, which consists <strong>of</strong> five functional components: DFSMSdfp, DFSMShsm,<br />

DFSMSdss, DFSMSrmm and DFSMStvs. ISMF is designed to use the space<br />

management and availability management (backup/recovery) functions provided by those<br />

products.<br />

► Data Facility SORT (DFSORT), which provides the record-level functions.<br />

► Resource Access Control Facility (RACF), which provides the access control function for<br />

data and services.<br />

► Device Support Facilities (ICKDSF) to provide the storage device support and analysis<br />

functions.<br />

► <strong>IBM</strong> NaviQuest for MVS 5655-ACS.<br />

NaviQuest is a testing and reporting tool that speeds and simplifies the tasks associated<br />

with DFSMS initial implementation and ongoing ACS routine and configuration<br />

maintenance. NaviQuest assists storage administrators by allowing more automation <strong>of</strong><br />

storage management tasks. More information about NaviQuest can be found in the<br />

NaviQuest User's Guide.<br />
