Update the SMS configuration<br />

For DFSMSdfp to use the CF for VSAM RLS, after defining one or more CF cache structures<br />

to MVS you must also add them in the SMS base configuration.<br />

Define cache sets<br />

In 7.14, “Coupling Facility structures for RLS sharing” on page 397 we discuss how to define<br />

CF cache structures. You now need to add the CF cache structures to the DFSMS base<br />

configuration. To do so, you need to associate them with a cache set name.<br />

The following steps describe how to define a cache set and how to associate the cache<br />

structures to the cache set:<br />

1. From the ISMF primary option menu for storage administrators, select option 8, Control<br />

Data Set.<br />

2. Select option 7, Cache Update, and make sure that you specified the right SCDS name<br />

(SMS share control data set, do not mix up with SHCDS).<br />

3. Define your CF cache sets (see Figure 7-22 on page 406).<br />
