resource and lack of interference with neighbors, making very large projects<br />

possible. Offshore projects are expensive to construct and maintain, but will<br />

become economically viable as fossil-fuel prices rise. Presently electricity from<br />

offshore windfarms is 150–200% more costly than onshore wind electricity.<br />

Technical issues for offshore wind include erection methods (e.g. Figure 6.10 )<br />

and foundation designs (e.g. Figure 6.11 ) [4] .
