Finally, even the first column can be collapsed, leaving only the grand total of the expression for the<br />

vertical axis. This is done by right-clicking in any of the field dimension columns and choosing Collapse<br />

Dimension Columns from the Object menu. The result will be as follows:<br />

From here you may expand again!<br />

The expand and collapse possibilities apply equally for multiple dimension fields on the horizontal<br />

axis as is illustrated in the pivot table below.<br />

61.2 Pivot Table: Object Menu<br />

Right-click on a chart and a float menu appears. This menu can also be found under Object menu when the<br />

chart is active.<br />

The following commands are available (the commands may vary depending on what field you click on):<br />

Properties... Opens the Properties dialog where the parameters defining the chart can be<br />

set. This command can also be invoked by the following keyboard shortcut:<br />

ALT+ENTER.<br />

Expand all<br />

Collapse all<br />

Collapse Dimension<br />

Rows<br />

Collapse Dimension<br />

Columns<br />

These commands operate on the expand (+) and collapse (-) icons that are displayed<br />

in multi-dimensional pivot tables.<br />

Detach The chart title is appended with the text "(Detached)" and the table is no<br />

longer updated with selections made in the document (though selections may<br />

actually still be made from the chart). The command is available only if the<br />

table is attached.<br />

By making a copy of a pivot table and detaching it, you may make direct comparisons<br />

between the copy and the original.<br />
