Script and Expressions<br />

Normal Text Text that does not belong to any of the categories described below.<br />

Keywords The keywords used in the script (described under Script Statements and Keywords<br />

(page 219)), e.g. load, select, directory, semantic, etc.<br />

Comments Comments typed in the script or chart.<br />

Error The errors that <strong>QlikView</strong> detects in the script or chart expression.<br />

Highlighted Text When approaching a parenthesis with the cursor in the script, the parenthesis,<br />

as well as the commas enclosed by it, will be highlighted. Missing parentheses<br />

or commas will thus be easily detectable.<br />

Field Names The names of the fields to be loaded and used in charts.<br />

Literals Text to be loaded literally, i.e. as a text string (usually enclosed by single quotation<br />

marks). For the difference between field names and literals see Quotation<br />

Marks (page 281).<br />

Functions The functions used in the script (described under Aggregation Functions<br />

(page 286)), e.g. div, left, if, num, etc. and charts.<br />

File Names The name of the file from which the fields are to be retrieved.<br />

Script Macro The variables used in the script. For more information on variables, see Script<br />

Variables (page 273).<br />

Aggregation Functions The aggregations functions used in the expression (described under Aggregation<br />

Functions (page 286)), e.g. sum, min, max, etc.<br />

Operators The operators used in the script (described under Operators (page 767)), e.g.<br />

+, like, etc. and in expressions.<br />

Table Labels The labels assigned to specific tables. For more information see Table Names<br />

(page 272).<br />

Set Analysis The set analysis identifiers, modifiers and operators used in the expression<br />

(described under Set Analysis (page 799)).<br />

Module<br />

Normal Text Text that does not belong to any of the categories described below.<br />

Keywords Visual Basic Script reserved keywords.<br />

Highlighted Text When approaching a parenthesis with the cursor in the script, the parenthesis,<br />

as well as the commas enclosed by it, will be highlighted. Missing parentheses<br />

or commas will thus be easily detectable.<br />
