NetPerformer SDM-8400 Hardware Installation Guide 1.1 Product Overview 1.1.1 Sales Contacts The SDM-8400 is a data-only integrated access device that supports multiple serial ports and Ethernet. It increases serial port capacity at an enterprise network node while minimizing the number of NetPerformer units required. It can be used for high density serial port applications, central site satellite solutions and other applications requiring serial port extension. To maximize serial port availability, the preferred interconnectivity between the SDM-8400 and other NetPerformer products is Ethernet. The SDM-8400 offers all data characteristics that are available for serial and Ethernet interfaces in NetPerformer software version 10.2.1 or higher. It provides bandwidth optimization for both LAN and serial data, QoS, data compression, routing and multiplexing.
