Freshman Rules We, the Upper Classmen of the University of Cincinnati, from the Sublime Heights of our .\cadeniic attainments, and in paternal .solicitude for the welfare and guidance of j'ou Mis-shapen Monstrosities, do solemnlj' lav' doAvn these rules and regulations: I. Show proper respect at all limes to Upper Classmen. 11. Abjure at all times the company of the Fair Co-eds while in the buildings of the Universitj% as this is reserved for Upper Classmen only. III. Adorn not your narrow chests with prep school pins or pup frat insignia. Do not the horse and the Ass likewise adorn themselves ? IV. Encumber not the front steps with your shambling presence. If the Upper Classmen want a doormat, they will ask for one. V. Wear the small Green Cap with the Yellow Button at all times while on the campus or in the University buildings. VI. Eschew all Derbj' hats. VII. Freshmen who have acquired the tobacco habit are permitted to smoke only Corn-cob Pipes. (Cigars, cigarettes and cubebs not permitted.) Smoke not in any of the Universitj' buildings. VIH. Attend all Convocations, and learn at once two 'Varsity songs. IX. Exhibit yourselves in the Rooting Section, for the purpose of Cheering at all Gaines. X. The Annual Flag-Rush shall take place on the fourth Monday after Registration Daj'. (If the Freshmen win the Flag-Rush, rules II, V, and VII, [first lârt], will become null and void at the end of the first Semester.) Therefore! Ye puerile pretensions for humanity, obey these commandments implicitly, that your Days may be long in the Halls of U. C; which the August and" Benevolent Upper Classmen have granted unto you. page two hundred and thirty-flve
